Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will hold a joint telephone call today with the foreign ministers of France, Britain and Germany to discuss Iran's nuclear program and sanctions against Tehran, the IRNA news agency reported, BTA reports.

The three European countries have already said they will trigger UN sanctions if Iran does not return to talks on its nuclear program, Reuters notes.

France, Britain and Germany, along with the United States, say Tehran is using its nuclear program in a way that could allow it to develop nuclear weapons. Iran categorically denies these accusations.

Negotiations between Tehran and Washington to limit the Islamic Republic's nuclear ambitions were interrupted after the US and Israel carried out strikes on Iranian nuclear sites in June.

Inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have not been able to access Iranian nuclear facilities since then.
