Poland will open a new military training camp that will be used temporarily to train Ukrainian troops before it is handed over to the Polish army, Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Koszyniak-Kamiś said, quoted by the Polish news agency PAP, BTA reports.
Norwegian partners are building a training center in Nowa Dębka, southern Poland, where construction began in mid-July.
“Everything will be completed on September 1 this year and the first training course for Ukrainian troops will start here“, Koszyniak-Kamiś said during a visit to the site.
According to the minister, the camp is a project that Norway decided to implement in partnership with Poland within the framework of NATO. He noted that this would not be the first training course for Ukrainian soldiers in Poland.
“The training has been going on for many months“, Kościńska-Kamiś said.
Once the Ukrainians complete their training at the camp, the facility will be handed over to the Polish army.
