EU enlargement is a strategic investment in our common security. It means expanding the zone of peace
This was published on her Facebook page by the deputy chairman of the GERB-SDF parliamentary group Denitsa Sacheva, who took part in the Interparliamentary Conference on Foreign, Security and Defense Policy in Copenhagen, quoted by novini.bg. Here is what else Sacheva published:

"As a member state of Southeast Europe and the Black Sea region, Bulgaria consistently supports the European future of the countries of the Western Balkans and the Eastern Neighborhood. This is what I said on the second day of my participation in the Interparliamentary Conference on Foreign, Security and Defence Policy in Copenhagen.
We must clearly define our common European interests in the areas of security and competitiveness and explain them to as many people as possible in the EU and the countries that want to become part of it. The accession process must be based on the principle of own merits, the fulfillment of the membership criteria and the understanding that certain commitments must be made and fulfilled in return for this membership. Only in this way can the enlargement of the Union have lasting repercussions on the geopolitical orientation and civilizational affiliation of the candidate countries".
