Kim Jong-un meets with families of 101 North Korean soldiers killed in Russia's Kursk region

The country's leader expressed condolences and consoled the relatives, apologizing for the fact that the soldiers' lives were not saved

Chairman of the State Council of the DPRK Kim Jong-un met again with the families of soldiers who died in the fighting in Russia's Kursk region, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.

On August 29, the DPRK leader was accompanied by leading cadres of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, military commanders and employees of revolutionary schools. Kim Jong-un expressed condolences and consoled the families of the dead, apologizing for the fact that the soldiers' lives were not saved.

„Why is our army so heroic? "She does not know how to surrender, nothing is impossible for her, she always wins in battle," Kim Jong-un said. His speech moved those present, KCNA reported. The DPRK leader presented portraits of the fallen soldiers wrapped in national flags. He then posed for a photo with family members.

Earlier in August, the country's leader presented the "Hero of the People's Republic" medals to commanders and soldiers of the Korean People's Army. As he spoke, a memorial wall with portraits of 101 people stood behind him. Kim Jong-un attached the medals to the photos of the fallen soldiers. Family members of the servicemen attended the ceremony. This summer, footage was released of Kim Jong-un personally welcoming the bodies of the fallen soldiers who were brought home.
