During the exhibition in China, Mazda presented the Arata concept, which should appear in a serial version by the end of the year. Conceived through the joint efforts of Changan Mazda, a partnership between Changan Automobile and Mazda, the Arata embodies a vision ready to hit the market very soon. The production model is expected to bear the name "EZ-60", which is already reserved in China.
Arata is expected to have connections with Changan Deepal S7. Diverging from its current EZ-6 sedan counterpart, which debuted in China with an electric drivetrain and plug-in hybrid, the Arata is slated to run on electric power only. Conceived through the prism of Mazda's Kodo design language, the SUV features an elegant light look and a glowing grille that is partially enclosed.
On the Arata concept, the mirrors have been replaced with cameras, and this is complemented by the absence of traditional door handles and the absence of a rear wiper. At the moment, nothing is mentioned about the drivetrain, but it is expected to become clear by the end of the year, when the production version also appears.
