Microsoft will invest USD 2.9 billion to develop artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in Japan and expanding cooperation in the field of cyber security. According to the Japanese Foreign Ministry, this was stated by Microsoft President Brad Smith during a meeting in Washington with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
"President Smith announced new investments from Microsoft, including $2.9 billion to expand large-scale cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure in Japan, to open the first Microsoft Research Asia lab in Tokyo, and to expanding cooperation in the field of cyber security with the Japanese government”, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
