The head of the Turkish Ministry of Energy Alparslan Bayraktar said that the republic broke new records for daily oil and gas production. “As part of the national energy and mining policy, we are moving forward decisively to end dependence on foreign energy resources through our own means and capabilities. “New records have been set in the daily production of oil and gas”, the minister wrote on his page in the social network X.
The record for daily oil production was set on August 17, when 107,621 barrels were produced. And on August 15, the maximum amount of gas was obtained to date - 7.609 million cubic meters.
In recent years, our southern neighbor has intensified the exploration of gas and oil deposits on its territory, as well as in the Black Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean. In the Black Sea, the development of the Sakarya gas field continues, oil and gas explorations are carried out in the exclusive economic zone of Turkey in the area of Cyprus. In addition, work continues to increase oil production in southeastern Turkey in mountainous regions where field development has long been considered unprofitable due to drilling complexity and safety issues.
