Elon Musk's company X has announced to employees that its headquarters in San Francisco, California will will be closed on Friday, September 13. This was reported by Fortune magazine with reference to a source in the company.
According to him, the previous day X had sent a short notice to staff stating the plant's closing date, which was Friday. Office workers are to be transferred to the company's San Jose and Palo Alto branches. It is not yet known where X's new headquarters will be located. Fortune admits it may open in Texas.
As the newspaper The Washington Post reported in August, such a decision may be due to the fact that some of the employees of the San Francisco office were laid off after the renaming of Twitter to X, and many others continue to work online after the coronavirus pandemic.
In July, Musk wrote on his X account that his company SpaceX would move its headquarters from San Francisco to Texas due to the adoption of an LGBT law in California (recognized in the Russian Federation by an extremist movement is prohibited). This law, which promotes LGBT rights in schools, was previously signed by Governor Gavin Newsom.
