Kazakhstan authorities are ready to increase oil exports to the German market and invite German companies for joint geological exploration and production of rare earth metals.

„Kazakhstan is ready to increase exports to Germany of 100 commodity items worth 850 million dollars. As a reliable and one of the largest suppliers of energy resources to Germany, Kazakhstan is ready to increase its oil exports to the German market. We rely on the continued support of our German partners to ensure long-term and stable hydrocarbon supplies. For the sustainable progress of our countries, I consider it important to activate joint activities on the transition to alternative sources of energy. This was stated by the President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev at the second meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Astana.

„We express our readiness for mutually beneficial cooperation in the development of hydrogen energy. Our country, together with Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, is working on a project to build a green energy transmission line along the bottom of the Caspian Sea and further to European countries. We invite our German partners to consider the possibility of participating in this strategic project”, the press service of the head of state quotes.

Tokaev also invited German companies for joint geological exploration and production of rare earth metals. "I propose to establish cooperation on the principle of "raw materials in exchange for technology" with primary and secondary processing of ores in the area. In this context, we welcome the realization of the HMS Bergbau company's investment project for mining and processing of lithium in the region of East Kazakhstan worth more than 500 million USD. We are ready to continue providing German investors with favorable conditions for exploration and development of deposits of precious and non-ferrous metals in our country. “I consider it expedient, with the support of our European partners, to create a regional research center for rare earth metals on the basis of the Kazakhstan Center for Technological Forecasting“, noted the leader of the republic.
