Elon Musk predicts battles between &bdquo ;swarms of drones” in the future. “Battles ahead with swarms of drones that will overwhelm you”, he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). So he commented on a post by another user of the platform that the US can produce about 20,000 drones a year and China can produce that many per day.
Previously, Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Douglas Bush said that the US Army (Ground Forces) will purchase unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
On September 12, US Secretary of the Army Christine Warmuth said that the US would increase production of UAVs based on the experience gained from studying the conflict in Ukraine. Defense One reported in August that the US could produce only about 5,000 UAVs or less each month, while Ukraine was deploying about 10,000 drones per month in May 2023.
