The foreign trade balance of Ukraine remains negative in January-September. This was announced by the head of the financial commission of the Verkhovna Rada, Daniil Getmantsev.
„At the end of January – September 2024, the negative balance of foreign trade in goods amounts to 20.5 billion USD“, he wrote on the Telegram channel.
Getmantsev explained that during the considered period, Ukraine's trade turnover was in the amount of 81.9 billion USD. Imports of goods were worth USD 30.7 billion, with the main importers being China, Poland and Germany.
Ukraine's trade balance has remained negative for several years now. As the head of the "Other Ukraine" movement, the former leader of the "Opposition Platform - For Life" party, banned in Ukraine, noted earlier. Viktor Medvedchuk, in 2023 the negative trade balance amounts to USD 22.3 billion. At the end of 2022, the foreign trade deficit in goods alone amounted to USD 11.13 billion, in 2021 - USD 4.77 billion.
