Joint action plan in the field of tourism for the period 2025-2027 Between Bulgaria and Montenegro signed today in Podgorica the Minister of Tourism Evtim Miloshev and his Montenegrin counterpart Simonida Kordic. Cooperation will be strengthened in key tourism areas, including winter, cultural, wine, pilgrimage and SPA tourism, as well as efforts will be made to ensure air connectivity between the Balkan capitals.
The two ministers discussed the idea of creating an integrated tourist product "Destination Balkans". It will enable the development of common travel packages aimed at tourists from distant destinations such as Japan and the USA.
„For us, the Balkan peoples, it is not profitable to be in competition on the topic of tourism. The world and tourists from distant destinations accept us as one destination – an area with a unique culture, impressive historical heritage, delicious food and fine wine. Overseas tourists want to visit several countries in one trip. If we create a common integrated product, the Balkans will be significantly more attractive on the world tourist map,” said Minister Miloshev.
Minister Kordic emphasized the importance of the plan, stating: “It is important to have a formal framework for our successful cooperation. I hope that we will soon take concrete steps to bring Montenegro and Bulgaria closer together and to present ourselves together to tourists from more distant markets. It is essential that we demonstrate political will and provide opportunities for economic cooperation to the benefit of both countries. Tourism is a bridge, tourism is an entry point, and when that bridge is open, many economic activities pass through it.
