If the government falls, chaos will ensue. This is what GERB leader Boyko Borisov thinks. He spoke to the party's youth organization in Razlog. The budget was the main topic, Nova TV reports.
According to Borisov, it became clear that the fate of the budget and its possible withdrawal is awaited until Tuesday's meeting with the unions and employers. Borisov specified that the opposition has held him accountable for the budget withdrawal that has not yet actually happened, by taking words and terms out of context.
Borisov explained how the communication within the party about the withdrawal of the budget took place: “I said: “Withdraw the budget”. Zhelyazkov said: “We cannot withdraw it now in the Council of Ministers, this must be done by a decision of the National Assembly”. Delyan Dobrev said this: “If we freeze the actions of the budget committee, if on Tuesday the government comes to an agreement with unions and employers, we come to an agreement with the other three parties, it can be submitted to the budget committee with an additional report, it is adopted by the budget committee, enters the hall and between the first and second reading, it is adopted on the second reading and we are included until the New Year as a timing. And Goranov then said: “But keep in mind that if we do not come to an agreement by Wednesday, we must prepare an extended budget, because from January 1 there are systems that will stop”, Borisov retold.
The GERB leader said that if the government falls, chaos will prevail in the country: “Instant chaos, instant. Prices will go sky high because there is no control that is currently required“, Borisov said.
He also commented on the garbage crisis in Sofia. “Sofia is dirty again, but people don't talk about it anymore, you brought a company, and when we caught them, there is no foul play, there is nothing, but you are still dirty“. Borisov also commented on the increase in prices for parking zones in Sofia: “When you raise prices and pick pockets of Sofia residents and you are from the PP, this is called reform, if you raise the insurance by 1%, this is robbery“, Borisov said, quoted by BGNES.
“I am not ashamed to be next to these mayors from other parties who have done their job. Looking at the history of these democrats, the most empowered person at the moment, will this be the basis for talks, not with me and GERB, but with the so-called center-right community, to see if they like this and what they have been explaining to us for decades, that if someone was in the State Security, they should not be in any leadership position," Borisov said. "We removed people from posts, investigators who were in the State Security, to prove ourselves to them. When you say the State Security, it is difficult for one to imagine what kind of obscurantist service with what damage to the mass of Bulgarians it is about. A service that, if someone shot someone at the border, was awarded orders. History must be remembered, because their grandchildren and children act with the methods of the State Security's provocations," Borisov also said.
