The National Health Insurance Fund has officially confirmed that they have given two positive opinions on the project of the "Mama and I" hospital. On February 1, 2023, the first document was signed by the temporary manager of the Treasury, Dr. Yordanka Penkova.
The opinion states that "if the assessment of the population's needs for medical assistance shows a need to open the hospital, the relevant funding will be provided for in the financial plans of the NHIF for the period from 2026,'' BNR writes.

On November 27, the NHIF sent to the Ministry of Health a second positive opinion about the "Mom and I" medical center. It was signed by the manager Stanimir Mihailov.
According to the document, if the complex assessment of the population's needs for medical assistance shows the need to open the hospital, it will be possible for the new activities requested by the medical facility (for the budget of the NHIF) to be financed during the period of their implementation and in within the financial parameters of the hospital approved by the Supervisory Board of the National Health Insurance Fund for concluding a contract with the health fund.
On April 30, the caretaker government approved a decision to create a private hospital "Mommy and I". and hours later canceled it. Acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev explained that the arguments for canceling the decision were: public tension and the disapproval of President Rumen Radev, DPS and PP-DB.
