The head of the "Medical Supervision: Botulinum toxin was imported illegally, Arina Osipova is not a doctor

11 women have complications after injecting botulinum toxin into the face, and some of them are hospitalized in the "Pirogov" hospital. It has been established that they are victims of the same beautician - Arina Osipova, who was discovered through her Instagram account. The investigators are already working with the 25-year-old woman who injected Botox into the injured women, NOVA learned. She has given information to the General Directorate of the National Police, and has not been detained for the time being.
In the “Interview in NOVA News” the executive director of the Executive Agency “Medical Supervision“ Ivanka Dineva confirmed that the beautician's identity has been established and her explanations have been taken. “We established when she landed in Bulgaria and we found her. The voluntary seizure of the medicinal product applied to the injured women has been completed. We have established where and what it is. The product was not purchased in Bulgaria and was not imported legally. It is a known medication. Our goal is to stop bad practices and prevent such incidents from happening again. The procedures of the beautician in question were performed in Sofia, she is registered as a practice of a legal entity. The lady is not a doctor, she does not have the legal right to perform aesthetic manipulations“, explained Dineva. And she appeals to patients and doctors to be more vigilant and to notify the IAMN if there are any suspicions of irregularities in the performance of manipulations.
According to her, it remains to be established whether the residence of some of the injured patients is Pernik or whether this is the place where some of the procedures were carried out.
