"Cornelia Ninova yesterday submitted the resignation of the entire Executive Bureau, because she initially took responsibility because she thought that there were people next to her who would continue, lead the party through this difficult moment. Yesterday at 5:00 p.m. the entire Executive Bureau resigned, and today all these vice-presidents and members of the Executive Bureau have already resigned, i.e. new processes are coming up in the party, which should clean up even more", he said in "The day starts with Georgi Ljubenov". Georgi Svilenski - member of the National Council of the BSP.
"Let's clarify first what is going on. You remember just a few days ago, or 24 hours before the elections, ten youths from the youth union demanded the resignation, demanded an extraordinary plenum, the convening of a congress to cancel the direct election, the appointment of an official leader ie. this happened 24 hours before the results were announced and some of the management were scared of this action probably because Kornelia Ninova clearly announced her resignation. She took responsibility for the catastrophic loss of the result, as by the way it was expected by everyone, because with such a result you cannot continue to perform the functions when you have not achieved a result",
He added that Ninova has returned to "respectable comrades the right to choose your leader". Part of the executive bureau, the three vice-presidents without Irena Anastasova, have joined some of those who requested an extraordinary plenum.
"These are the people who were closest to Nineveh and did not have the morals, the honor to sit down face to face with her and talk about all these problems. And yesterday, as far as I understand, they got together. They have decided to join the signature of these 63 or 64 people who want a plenum and convene a plenum without materials, without documents, without analyses. Isn't the point of the plenum to do what you're going to ask me about. Why did it come to this point?", emphasized Svilenski.
He added that this is done with analyzes and results. According to him, this means that the party is under pressure.
"What Ninova managed for these eight years to resist, to hold, only 24 hours after submitting her resignation... It turned out that a lot of people want to open the gate. She said "the gate will be opened from the inside". But it turned out that there are quite a few meraclies inside who want to open the gate.
Georgi Svilenski refused to name specific names in order to "not become another BSP politician who speaks against his party". He was adamant that these people do not have the morals to rule the party.
"We have information that some of the resigned vice-presidents of the party are holding meetings even though they have not been given a mandate to do so," Svilenski also said.
As long as someone is a member of the PG of the BSP and implements the party's decisions, he will not be excluded from the group, Svilenski added.
According to him, the analysis of poor results, which clearly shows that there is a problem, cannot be done in a few days.
"Some people were just in a hurry. They could not sleep for 24 hours, thinking that Ninova had resigned and Ninova's chair was vacant, and they all rushed to prevent someone from overtaking the other. You know when the ship goes in a certain direction who runs first. Only, if they escape first, there is nowhere for them to catch, because there are no other ships in the open sea. This is what will happen to the next fugitives.
He explained that the ship was not sinking, but was "out of order".
"Today you will see them. However, I wonder... They were near Ninova on Sunday and did not say anything to her. They didn't say "Mrs. Ninova, you were wrong here. Don't make this mistake. They stood all day and suddenly on Tuesday...".
Svilenski said that the political council of the coalition was formed on the basis of the contract with which they participate in the elections.
"It is between political party "Ekoglasnost", "Thracians" and BSP. Yesterday there was a meeting of this political council. By contract, they offer leadership to the parliamentary group, not the party. Since we are a parliamentary coalition of the "BSP for Bulgaria," Svilenski clarified.
From them comes the proposal to appoint Georgi Svilenski as chairman, and Hristo Prodanov and Ivan Chenchev as vice-chairmen. He explained that they could not propose a temporary chairman.
In his words, "the plenum was set up as a coup d'etat".
"I think that's how it was set up. It was with such intention that he was summoned. How it will end - I can't say", remarked Svilenski.
He added that the Plenum is free to make decisions as it sees fit. And again he emphasizes that the party is under pressure. He said that he himself will not attend the Plenum.
"Everything is going well in this organized chaos, in which the BSP must be broken and those who can open the gates from within must be found. Watch them!", Georgi Svilenski said at the end of the conversation.
