Ivo Mirchev: Boyko Borisov does not want a government now, but he will do so under Peevski's pressure - 1

We were not aware of the symbiosis between Borisov and Peevski. This is what Ivo Mirchev from “Democratic Bulgaria” said in the bTV studio.

„Later we realized that when you enter Borisov's office, you also meet Peevski – decisions are made there together. And the government that needs to be formed now, believe me, Boyko Borisov does not want it. It is happening under the pressure of Peevski, simply because Peevski has a strong influence in GERB”, he explained.

According to him, Delyan Peevski currently owns the judicial system, the services and the Ministry of the Interior. “Now he will also have a government, he will be able to replace 130 people in the regulators. Peevski has no measure and Borisov knows very well that such a government will be catastrophic for the country, he also pointed out.

Ivo Mirchev also commented on the loss of 300,000 votes during the “2 in 1” vote, which took place on June 9.

„We made a lot of mistakes and were punished by the voters – from the people whose support we have always counted on. That is why we have one resignation and we have taken responsibility, but it should also be clear that we have to start a new conversation with these people,”, he said.

According to him, these people have not betrayed the right-wing political space – “they just didn't come out to vote and didn't choose any of the other political alternatives”. Mirchev also said that “Blue Bulgaria” is a “poisonous double“ who has not achieved any electoral success.

„We must stand before these people humbly and again ask for their support, but after a new conversation. This is going to be a long conversation. In no case should we ignore the mistakes that they obviously made, he explained.

Mirchev pointed out that one of PP-DB's mistakes was that they did not explain to their voters why they had to support a government together with GERB. The second mistake, according to him, is that GERB did not bear any political responsibility, although the government was formed with the support of Boyko Borisov.

And their third mistake was that they created unrealistic expectations among people that they could do something with 64 deputies.
