On the eve of the new year, we are expected to be more optimistic, although we do not have many reasons for this. All these ongoing talks should yield results. I think that we will end up with a regular government, which we need, and a very serious one. This was said by the former Deputy Prime Minister for EU funds and diplomat Meglena Plugchieva in the studio of "Denyat ON AIR".
Public figure Prof. Stoyan Denchev is also optimistic about forming a government.
"The Bulgarian people should expect a government, although there are no circumstances to create one, the need requires that Bulgaria finally get a regular government that will adopt Budget 2025. I want Bulgarian citizens to be optimistic", added Prof. Denchev on the air of Bulgaria ON AIR.
Responsibility is needed for the problems
According to Plugchieva, it is time to abandon the destructive selfishness that we have seen in recent months.
"We need to look much more responsibly at the commitments that political parties have towards the state. These are basic sectoral policies that have been abandoned in recent years and, moreover, we have a new mandate of the EC - there is a new budget, a new methodology. So external factors are also an additional catalyst for returning to reason. Compromises will be made anyway", she emphasized.
Prof. Denchev is of the opinion that the prime minister will not be equidistant: "Maybe he will be a figure chosen by everyone. The content is important. I liked Zafirov, who said that he expects to have a government with a 4-year horizon. That's what we all want".
Lack of perspective
"He must be a person with competence, management experience and bring courage to decisions. There are such. It is important that the country's problems in different sectors find a solution. First of all, the economy is the most important pillar, and if it continues to shrink, we cannot expect any brilliant development of our country," the former deputy prime minister expressed his opinion.
Meglena Plugchieva added that there is a lack of predictability and perspective.
"In Bulgaria, this political instability has already become a byword and outside in neighboring countries they give us as a bad example," she explained.
And Prof. Denchev agreed with her words.
"The government should not be a banitsa and the Bulgarian people should get used to this thought," the public figure commented.
