The 50th parliament convenes for its first session. Deputies are about to take an oath and elect a speaker of the National Assembly, BNT reported.
The first session of the parliament was chaired by the oldest member of parliament - Silvi Kirilov from "There is such a people". 237 people's representatives out of 240 are present in the hall.
"We live in extremely dynamic times. We live in a time apart. Society lacks trust in institutions and the political system. There is a sense of injustice. There is no unity in society. It's time to bring back common sense," urged the oldest member of parliament, Silvi Kirilov.
The largest parliamentary force represented in the 50th Parliament - GERB-SDS, nominated Raya Nazaryan for the Speaker of the Parliament. At the moment, all other political forces except DPS and ITN have announced that they will not support her candidacy.
PP-DB will vote "against", but will not nominate a representative. "Revival" will announce his candidacy from the plenary hall, BSP will nominate Dobromir Stoynev for the post, and "Velichie" - Juliana Mateeva.
