Declaration in support of the DPS MP Ramadan Atalay announced the municipal organization of the DPS in Asenovgrad. It was sent to the honorary chairman of the Ahmed Dogan Movement and was published in the Facebook group “I support Ahmed Dogan”, BNR reports.
At the end of last week, the regional council of the Movement in Plovdiv withdrew its confidence from the long-time representative and multiple leader of the DPS list in the Atalay region due to the weak election results.
According to the largest organization of the DPS in the region, the reasons for the weaker results of the DPS in the elections on June 9 are complex and are not the responsibility of Atalay alone.
The municipal leadership of DPS in Asenovgrad, mayors and councilors claim that the party's municipal structures, its regional council, as well as Regional Chairman Yuksel Rasim, who “deliberately did not show activity during the election campaign and gave similar instructions to the structures close to him.“ The removal of trust from Ramadan Atalay is defined by the organization as an attempt to discredit Ahmed Dogan and replace the DPS, which according to the signatories is unacceptable.
DPS-Asenovgrad also opposes the appointment of Deputy Regional Governor Nurdzhan Karadjova. They state that they were not notified of the appointment and that it was “traded” only with Yuksel Rasim. The signatories of the declaration define such actions as repugnant to the work of the municipal organization, to Ramadan Atalay and to all members of the DPS and insist on urgent action.
The municipal organizations of the DPS in Parvomai and Krichim came out with declarations in support of Ramadan Atalay.
