Valeria Veleva: Dogan should have come out and defended what he created. We see the party's agony

Valeria Veleva: Dogan should have come out and defended what he created. We see the party's agony - 1

Two days before the end of registration for early parliamentary elections, it is still not clear how DPS and BSP will perform.

"The battle that tomorrow YOU have to resolve is about the abbreviation DPS. There are no good guys and bad guys in this fight, there are only bad guys. In the DPS there was a total rout of this party, this is the end of the transition. The elimination of DPS, the strike out, as we have known it for the last 35 years, as a balancer party. We see the agony of the party and the collapse of the model of political dependencies under the guise of politics," commented journalist Valeriya Veleva in the program "The Day ON AIR".
She was adamant that this titanic battle should not have been allowed by Ahmed Dogan and Delyan Peevski. According to her, the DPS electorate will be divided. And the honorary chairman should have led the party, not "run away".

"Dogan should have come out and defended what he created. People around Dogan say he will contest the election to maintain a level in his electorate. Dogan lost Kardjali, the mayors of Jebel, Kardjali and Chernoochene are in Peevski's camp. That day there was a legitimate meeting of the Regional Council of the DPS, at which the regional leader - a person from Dogan's camp, was excluded, Veleva pointed out.

What are the options for both DPS to go to elections?
According to the political scientist Associate Professor Milen Ljubenov, there is an option for DPS not to participate as a political party in the legal sense.

"The two coalitions remain to be registered - "New beginning" and "Democracy, Rights and Freedom". I do not rule out this hypothesis, which will have direct consequences for the DPS itself," said the political scientist.
On the air of Bulgaria ON AIR, he added that neither Dogan's DPS nor Peevski's DPS have a 2/3 majority and this blocks decision-making in the party in the short and medium term.

"The more important issue is the model of a conquered state, which is not only Peevski's, it is a problem in which both DPS and GERB are involved. My expectations are that new political subjects will appear in the next parliamentary elections. "Even if a government is formed after the vote, it will be unstable, there will be a highly fragmented parliament, it will be in an eagle, crab and pike format," Assoc. Lyubenov is convinced.
Valeria Veleva expressed her opinion that it will be very difficult for the winner of the elections to form a government.

It will be difficult to have a regular government
"At this moment, the leaders of the political parties continue not to talk to each other. Peevski's attack is against Radev, the attack of "We continue the change" is against Peevski. Borisov says I don't care what problems you have, I have a party. "Because everyone is guilty and wrong, no one has the right to be the moral corrective of the whole society", Veleva is categorical.

Both do not expect an increase in voter turnout. Expectations are for an aggressive campaign.

"It will be quite a dramatic campaign, the likes of which we have not seen. Many things will be taken out in both DPS and BSP. We haven't started reading the fairy tale, the beautiful fairy tale in BSP and DPS is over," commented the journalist.

The next snap election is expected to be in early 2025
