"The CEC cannot give an answer as to what the DPS is - that is what the voters should answer," commented to BNT the deputy chairman and spokesperson of the CEC Rositsa Mateva.
Due to the dispute in the DPS, for the first time in years, the Central Election Commission has appointed ex officio members of the regional commissions.
"The DPS Party is parliamentaryly represented in the 50th Parliament and it has the right to propose members of the SEC and RIC, which will organize and conduct the elections. During the consultations with the regional governors, however, the DPS party presented two proxies to the two representatives. For the first time in many years, not a single agreement was reached.
Precisely because of this, Mateva suspects that many of the appointments of the sectional commissions will be appealed.
"The Movement for Rights and Freedoms party is part of the "DPS - New Beginning". This is the coalition that registered the CEC after a decision of the Supreme Administrative Court", explained Mateva.
We cannot comment on court decisions, we must implement them, said Rositsa Mateva, but explained why the CEC initially refused to register Delyan Peevski's faction:
"The electronic application was considered when it was received by the commission, only the application was submitted and signed, no other documents were submitted to it. At a minimum, voter signatures in support of registration cannot be submitted electronically. The rest of the documents were presented on site at the CEC during the day.
Rositsa Mateva is adamant that no one influences her decision-making, she confirmed the same for her colleagues. He indicated that the CEC works well with the caretaker government, an operational meeting with ministers is coming up on Monday.
"It is good that communication goes between the two bodies, not through the media, especially when the CEC receives proposals that were sent 3 hours earlier to the media, but we will clarify these issues. I'm talking about yesterday, when a proposal was sent to the Council of Ministers, which was received in the CEC after 10:30, and was sent to the media long before 8.
The issue with screens must be resolved - the CEC proposes to buy them centrally. A place to store the machines must also be found - this is the responsibility of the Council of Ministers, the CEC spokesperson also pointed out.
