"We pray that the All-Merciful God will accept the souls of the dead and grant them eternal rest in His Heavenly Kingdom, adds the patriarch.

May this faith strengthen us in sorrow and pain, and may the Lord grant the families of the fallen peace, comfort and strength in these difficult moments, because "the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and will save the humble in spirit" (Ps. 33:18)".

"May the memory of the fallen Bulgarian soldiers be eternal and blessed," Patriarch Daniil also wrote.
