PP-DB: The cabinet stopped a public order for customs equipment and agreed with a specific company - 1

A unique and insane own goal was scored by the official government - the responsibility lies with Glavchev, the Minister of Finance and the "Customs" Agency. Bulgaria, because of Schengen, had to purchase special scanners and x-rays for border control. There was a requirement to hold a public meeting, but it stopped and went to the selection of a specific company - a huge mistake. Because all those who do not want land Schengen will now have a reason to ask for a postponement. This is what Martin Dimitrov from the PP-DB told the media in the parliament, quoted by novini.bg.

"PP-DB will make an effort to protect the interests of Bulgaria, but why does the official cabinet allow such own goals," he asked.
The high-tech equipment of the borders and the "Customs" Agency is one of the most effective methods for eradicating corruption, the deputy added on the subject.

"When public contracts are removed and secret agreements are made with a specific company, tomorrow this practice can be used for any technical order - this is Pandora's box,", Dimitrov believes.

"It is about funding aimed specifically at customs equipment in order to secure customs and the external borders of the EU," said MEP Radan Kanev.

"It is already heard in Brussels that Bulgaria has stopped a public procurement and started secret negotiations with an unknown company. There is a lack of transparency," according to the MEP.

"At the moment there are several serious scandals in Europe with Chinese equipment refusing to give information about possible leaks of sensitive information to a foreign country. "The EC wants to be sure that no such equipment is bought, which poses a risk to national security," commented Kanev.

"At the moment, especially with the formation of the new European Commission, it is explicitly emphasized that any equipment related to security and defense should be produced in Europe if possible, he stressed.

He pointed out that there is a risk that Bulgaria will lose funds in the amount of BGN 63 million for the public procurement of X-rays and scanners for our borders.

And they added that there is a decision of the Supreme Court, which says to hold a new public procurement after the failure of one.
