The institutions in Bulgaria act extremely selectively and all the attacks and inspections recently affect only mayors from the opposition. This was stated by the MP from the PP-DB Martin Dimitrov on the air of "Your Day" on NOVA News.
"Corruption is a characteristic of power, because that is where the huge funds are spent and the huge budgets are. And all the attacks and inspections recently affect mayors from the opposition and extremely selectively", explained Dimitrov.
The MP emphasized that there must be a fight against corruption, but it must be real. "Everyone who has violated the law must be held accountable. However, here we are talking about selectivity, which turns into repression of the opposition," he said.
"The government uses control bodies against the opposition. This is a characteristic of dictatorship," Dimitrov further explained. He demanded an answer to the question of why there is no mayor, a representative of the government, who is the subject of such actions.
"The adoption of the euro is a historic moment. The difficult part is ahead," the MP commented on the topic of Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone. According to him, what needs to be worked on is the issue of prices.
"The government has gone in the wrong direction - to introduce ceilings on mark-ups," said Dimitrov. He added that such ceilings on mark-ups in other countries have led to an increase in prices themselves.
The MP was categorical that no one in Europe has tried to lower prices with state-owned stores. According to him, due to state regulation, instead of prices falling, they will increase.
According to Martin Dimitrov, Bulgaria should move towards adopting the euro because this brings more security, investment and economic growth.
