Moscow, Beijing Condemn Nasrallah's Assassination - 1

Russia strongly condemned the deadly Israeli attack on the head of the Lebanese Shiite group "Hezbollah" ; Hassan Nasrallah and demanded an immediate end to all hostilities on the part of Israel, reported DPA, quoted by BTA, recalling that the leader of "Hezbollah" was killed yesterday in an Israeli airstrike in a suburb of Beirut.

"This act of violence could have dramatic consequences for Lebanon and the entire Middle East," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement today.

The ministry notes that Israel has recognized this danger, but has nevertheless continued with the attack, "which will almost inevitably provoke another outbreak of violence". As a result, Israel bears full responsibility for any subsequent escalation, the ministry added.

We call on Israel to immediately cease hostilities. "This will end the bloodshed and create conditions for finding a political and diplomatic solution," the statement said.

A number of countries are trying to involve Iran in the conflict in the Middle East in order to provoke a major war there, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in turn, quoted by TASS, at a press conference after participating in the high-level week of this year's session of the UN General Assembly.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi indirectly condemned the escalation between Israel and "Hezbollah", DPA points out.

"Fighting has started again in Lebanon, but force cannot replace justice" Wang Yi said in a speech at the United Nations General Debate in New York, just hours after it was confirmed that Hassan Nasrallah had been killed in an Israeli airstrike. The minister did not specifically mention Israel.

"Palestine's long-standing quest for an independent state should no longer be shirked, the historical injustice suffered by the Palestinian people should no longer be ignored,'' Wan said.

There must be an end to the hostilities in Gaza and work towards finding a solution based on the existence of two states, he noted.

"China has always been a staunch supporter of the just cause of the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate national rights and a staunch supporter of Palestine's full membership in the UN, and we recently helped achieve a breakthrough in reconciliation between the Palestinians,'' Wang said.

He was referring to the meeting in Beijing in July, when a total of 14 Palestinian groups, including rival factions "Hamas" and "Fatah", signed a declaration to strengthen Palestinian unity with the aim of forming a unity government.
