After six months in custody, the former head of the agency " Customs" Petya Bankova is released on bail in the amount of BGN 10,000.
The reasoned assumption has not been dropped, but there is no danger of him committing another crime, BNT revealed.
In addition, her health has deteriorated – severe health condition and oncological diagnosis made in the last months while she was in custody.
According to judge Toni Getov, the danger that she could influence witnesses in freedom has decreased, so there is no reason for her detention.
The prosecutor's office usually insists on continuing the detention, but this time offered a monetary guarantee, considering that there is no danger of Bankova absconding and that she should receive adequate treatment.
From the words of the prosecutor, it became clear that on October 10, Petya Bankova was questioned twice. Neither the prosecutor nor Bankova's defenders specified what was discussed in these interrogations.
According to Judge Getov, she is assisting the investigators regarding the rest of the organized criminal group for crimes against the tax and customs system, as well as for influencing her subordinates.
We remind you that, in addition to participating in an organized criminal group (OPG), the former director of the "Customs" Agency Petya Bankova is accused of coercion – she sent 18 people to various positions in the country, some of whom were also promoted. Stefan Dimitrov, Dimitrov's father, is also accused in the money laundering and bribery case – Marin, Nikola Nikolov – Pascal, who was declared a nationwide manhunt, was subsequently found in Serbia, the former chief secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Zhivko Kotsev, is also accused.
The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office has taken the necessary actions for the extradition of Nikola Nikolov - Pascal from Serbia.
Nikolov was ordered to be arrested for 18 days by a court in Belgrade. However, it can be extended to a maximum of 40 days, if the Bulgarian prosecutor's office requests, in order to send all the necessary documents for his extradition.
During a joint action of the Serbian and Bulgarian special services on September 27, Nikola Nikolov-Paskal was arrested in Serbia, who was wanted in our country for participation in a criminal group.
