The Commission for the Confiscation of Illegally Acquired Property (CCP) lost the confiscation case against the former head of the Children's Treatment Fund Pavel Alexandrov. This was reported by the newspaper "Sega".
The Anti-Corruption Commission wanted to seize from Alexandrov and his wife a ½ ideal part of a land plot in Lovech along with the building built on it, several watches, including a Rolex (given by his children for his birthday), seized in 2016, and cash in the total amount of 32,014 leva, seized from Alexandrov's apartment 8 years ago.
Ultimately, the CCP was ordered to pay Alexandrov and his wife the amount of 9,273 leva. The Commission must also bear the costs of the case in the amount of 5,883 leva. The decision of the Lovech District Court is not final and is subject to appeal.
The lawsuit against Pavel Alexandrov was filed during the mandate of Sotir Tsatsarov as Prosecutor General. He was accused by the prosecutor's office of having concluded a contract with a company in 2015, as director of the "Children's Treatment Fund" Center, without conducting a public procurement procedure, and these actions could have had significant harmful consequences. The state prosecution crashed several times in its attempt to bring the case to court. The Children's Treatment Fund was destroyed.
