„There is a budget deficit, which is currently BGN 3 billion, probably by the end of the year it will reach up to BGN 6-7 billion. Within 20 years, Bulgaria has had a budget deficit for 11 years. The big question is when we accept the budget - to have measures in the expenditure part. Revenues will increase, but the question is that expenses will also increase”, commented in the studio of “Intersection” the economist and senior researcher at the Institute for Market Economy Petar Ganev.
According to him, there is no need to freeze funds, but political solutions are needed. “We want to focus on the lowest possible rates that a large number of people pay. This means that the various preferences will be removed, Ganev also said.
According to him, there are revenue measures that do not affect the taxation of incomes, profits, the general VAT rate. “There is no reason to raise basic taxes”, Ganev added.
