Georgiev, GERB: The election of the President of the National Assembly can be seen as a graduation for politics

Georgiev, GERB: The election of the President of the National Assembly can be seen as a graduation for politics - 1

You will find out the name of our candidate for the Speaker of the National Assembly on Monday morning. We expect that he will be supported by the other parties, because in democracy there are basic principles that should not be deviated from. If these principles are not respected, we enter another pre-election rhetoric. Such a comment was made by Georgi Georgiev from GERB in the morning block of bTV, quoted by novini.bg.

Georgiev added that the election of the Speaker of the Parliament could be seen as a kind of maturity test for our political class to find out if it has learned its lessons.

In his words, the most important result of the “high school graduation“ will be that of PP-DB.
For now, party selfishness prevails with them, so their state matriculation exam will be on Monday. I hope they stop behaving like a party with 100 deputies and do not run away from responsibility. As for our responsibility – it extends to our powers. If we had 121 deputies from GERB, instead of 69, things would be completely different, explained Georgiev.

When asked why GERB wanted the Speaker of the National Assembly to be from their party, Georgiev replied that this was the will of 650,000 voters who wished to be represented in parliament by voting for GERB.

„ The desire of the Bulgarian citizens is to have a government and the Bulgarian parties to understand each other, even if it is with disgust”, the MP also pointed out.

In conclusion, Georgiev categorically stated that new elections will not change the situation in the country.
