Two days remain until the convocation of the 51st National Assembly. Although the parliament has not yet started work, the political formations have already drawn red lines and are ready with their first legislative ideas.
Political analyst Slavi Vassilev stated in the bTV studio that the elections in the USA will not affect the formation of a government in Bulgaria. According to him, they would influence, however, unlocking the civic energy of those who stand against circumstances, events and factors that irritate us – corruption, Peevski, vote buying. “All of this gives people hope that we can get better, too, because America was stuck under the Biden administration and the Democrats. This civic energy can eventually be transferred to us as well. Of course, there must be a flag bearer for her here, who is missing”, Vassilev said.
Georgi Harizanov also thinks that the election of Trump is good for Bulgaria, because it will stop for a while the “disgusting policy of exporting democracy and imposing democracy by the USA”.
„Now that the US is concentrating on its own problems, as Trump has requested, we will be able to behave as an independent country without some third-rate diplomat thinking that someone has appointed him Governor-General of the territory“, said Harizanov.
He added that he hoped there would be no direct interference in Bulgaria's internal affairs. “I am not talking about diplomacy, alliance policies, strengthening relations, trade, economic relations, all this is great, but that's it,”, Harizanov pointed out.
Slavi Vassilev stated that the political system is in collapse and hardly anyone expects that after the beginning of the 51st National Assembly, a president, a government, etc. will be easily elected.
"We are already talking about eighth early elections even before the parliament has been convened after the seventh early elections, Vassilev said.
According to him, the probability of having a government is very small, and in the office there is a “universal fall”. According to him, no one is responsible for decisions that are made, and people do not understand. He said that he knows about such decisions, for example regarding the fate of the TPP "Maritsa Iztok 3".
According to Harizanov, the parliamentary model is not exhausted, but nothing has changed since the night of the elections. “Weak parties, a sluggish campaign, unnecessary elections, stupid results from which it is difficult to find a smart solution,”, he said.
He believes that the problem is not in the system, but in weak politicians. He added that he is not GERB, but according to him, the party should sign a document on separation from Delyan Peevski, only if he is part of a four-year management program.
