The third attempt to elect a speaker of the National Assembly ended in failure . This is a clear signal that the parties are preparing for 8 early elections in a row.
Raya Nazaryan (GERB-SDS), Andrei Tsekov (PP-DB), Petar Petrov (“Vazrazhdane”), Nataliya Kiselova (“BSP - United Left”) and Silvi Kirilov (“There is such a people&rdquo) were nominated ;). Only ITN changed their proposal and nominated the oldest MP for the position as a possible consensus figure.
All parties without "There is such a people" repeated their nominations - Raya Nazaryan from GERB-SDS, Andrey Tsekov from "We continue the Change" - "Democratic Bulgaria", Petar Petrov from "Vazrazhdane", Natalia Kiselova from "BSP - United Left".
Only "There is such a people" changed their nomination and proposed the oldest deputy and chairman of the meeting - Silvi Kirilov. According to Toshko Yordanov, this is a temporary solution until a government is formed or new elections are held.
"We will not look so ridiculous and pitiful in the eyes of the people who elected us," said Yordanov.
"Thank you, I will be very happy the moment I vacate this hot seat,", replied Silvi Kirilov to his nomination. In the end, he also did not receive support from the people's representatives.
Nazaryan and Tsekov went to a runoff. Then the PP-DB proposal received the support of 56 MPs, which was insufficient to be elected. Nazaryan, nominated by GERB-SDS, was supported by 69 people's representatives, which was also not enough.
A 30 minute break was announced.
