A freight locomotive derailed at Ivanovo station late last night , reported to BTA from the press center of “Bulgarian State Railways” (BJD). There were no injuries.
The incident happened at 22:39. When entering the Ivanovo station on the third track, a locomotive of a freight combination of a private carrier derailed with the first track axle and prevented the passage of other trains. Traffic was restored at 01:30 at night.
This is another case of train derailment. The lack of control on the part of the employee responsible for the operation at the NKŽI Substation is more than visible, considering another case of a derailed train within two days, sources familiar with the situation in the company told FACTS.
According to them, it is clear that an employee without the necessary experience has been appointed to DP NKŽI to deal with operational problems and things are getting out of control. Rumen Stankov, acting as deputy general director of DP NKZHI, is responsible for the operation in this company, but he clearly does not cope with the responsibility assigned to him.
Cases of derailment of trains on the railway infrastructure since the middle of the year lead to the conclusion that there is a lack of control directly related to the safety of traffic and the operation of the railway infrastructure. In a European country, the employees of these management posts bear full responsibility in such cases of derailment, as well as bear responsibility for the lack of control on their part.
Everything up to this point leads to the conclusion that it is more than necessary to take urgent measures to replace the Deputy General Director in charge of the operation by the Ministry of Transport and the General Director of DP NKŽI, as well as to appoint another with the necessary competence.
