Kaloyan Pargov: All comrades in the BSP must preserve the party - 1

I know my opponents – each of them has strengths and weaknesses, just like me. There are more experienced ones who have been in government, but there are also quite young ones. This was said in an interview with NOVA NEWS by the former chairman of the Sofia organization of the BSP Kaloyan Pargov on the occasion of the election of a new leader of the BSP, scheduled for February 23.

He specified that the campaign itself opens on January 28, and on February 15 there will be a party Congress. When asked whether the Congress can postpone the election of a new leader of the Socialists, Pargov replied that “The Congress can decide everything.“

I hope this will not be so much a battle as a competition of ideas. I would very much like all of us who will embark on this race to sit down at a round table before the Congress on February 15 and discuss in a comradely manner the most important task facing the party, namely how to preserve the BSP for future generations, commented Pargov.

According to him, the BSP needs to stabilize as soon as possible in order to once again be a factor in Bulgarian political life, as it has not yet recovered from the rule of its former leader Cornelia Ninova.

Kaloyan Pargov clarified, however, that not only the BSP, but all parties in Bulgaria are in crisis - it's just that some are more visible than others.

Regarding the formed coalition, the politician pointed out that this is a “coalition of necessity”, so that the state can finally stop giving unnecessary money for early elections. And he predicts that the first serious test for the triple coalition will be the adoption of the budget for 2025.

Regarding the rescued Bulgarian sailors from the ship “Galaxy Leader“ Pargov said that this is very good news and highlighted the contribution of “quiet diplomacy“ to the final positive result.
