Stefan Yanev: Bulgaria must take its rightful place

2024 was a year in which, in political terms, it was not the policies and ideologies that parties are called to create, defend and attract people to them that prevailed, but rather we witnessed political engineering in two consecutive attempts to elect a National Assembly that would be able to form the necessary majority and form a government. This was said in the program "Metronome" on Radio "Focus" by the chairman of the political party "Bulgarian Rise", Gen. Stefan Yanev.

It is important that the choice of political representatives be determined by the rational, not the emotional, he believes, as the people we vote for should be "leaders of opinion, leaders of ideas, leaders of behavior, leaders of what can bring a better future for all of us, for the entire people". It is very important what criteria we use to choose our leaders, and according to him, two of the most important are the lack of corruption and the desire for absolute power. "If these two conditions are met in our thinking when we go to the polls, then we will probably have a better expectation of what to expect from the people we have elected and a more accurate idea of what they would do for us. At the moment, based on the emotional vote, it is difficult for me personally to say what the possible outcome of the negotiations for a government that are currently underway would be.

All systems in Bulgaria need some kind of modernization, a change in the rules and, above all, compliance with these rules, added Gen. Yanev:

"In our country, the systems seem to be systematically not working. This worries me the most. The main problem of our society is that we as a society do not want to have a goal and direction. And this is happening in a dynamically changing world. And we as a society seem to have decided that we should wait for someone to tell us what we could do with ourselves".

The way out of this situation Gen. Yanev sees in people who are sufficiently educated and honest, moral, experienced and ready to govern, but who stay away from politics, which, according to him, in our country already brings above all disgust because of all the manipulations and political engineering that are happening.

"Change will happen slowly and gradually, along an evolutionary path, because more and more people are thinking within the framework of what I am saying right now. Bulgaria must take its rightful place, because it can. We simply need the self-confidence of people who not only have a thousand-year history, but also have a modern state that is able to give the best for its citizens,", is categorical Gen. Stefan Yanev.
