The dialogue broke the behavior of the political formations in the month preceding the negotiations. The political leaders started with how illegitimate everyone present in this parliament is and ended with the election of a speaker of the National Assembly. I am personally ashamed of the behavior of the politicians. Democracy functions in a situation of talks, even if we hate each other. There are no innocents here. This was said by political scientist Hristo Panchugov in “Face to Face” on bTV, quoted by novini.bg
The big question that remains is what the solution to this crisis looks like from the politicians' point of view. What does this behavior of theirs lead to? The talk of a government is obviously out of the question, he added.
We did not see a conversation. Imitation is the word I would use. Maybe we are at halftime. The price of blowing up any opportunities for talks is very worrying. These people did everything possible to convince us that the way they ended up in parliament is illegal, said political scientist Lyubomir Stefanov.
They obviously do not trust each other and do not know how to create it. The topic of the prime minister is a pretext. The price of not finding a way to each other will be their obvious self-blame. Obviously, others who can be political representatives and can communicate will have to come, Stefanov pointed out.
Only Peevski has an interest in breaking off the negotiations and going to elections. In the next elections, his electoral weight will grow. In the next National Assembly, it will be impossible to elect a new Supreme Judicial Council without the participation of the two DPS parties, warned political scientist Teodor Slavev.
Several questions are raised here – Are the DB members retreating from the principle of a non-partisan, non-political figure or is the problem only with Rosen Zhelyazkov? Is the GERB bench that short, are there no other figures among them who could be from the DB? Obviously, Borisov wants a prime minister he can trust. For me, there is a more cardinal problem – if they cannot come to an agreement now, GERB should look for other forms of government, he explained.
There is a persistent trend that we should note that during GERB's government there was an informal partnership between GERB and DPS. They openly run away from such a coalition. Obviously, there are other factors that we do not take into account and make the equation insoluble. The figure of the Prime Minister is important, but a clear commitment to judicial reform is needed. In order to end Mr. Peevski's influence, a government with clear commitments is needed. This is exactly what none of these political formations is capable of providing. They are quite effectively wasting our time so far, explained Hristo Panchugov.
Lyubomir Stefanov stated that President Radev is yet to go wild. The more politicians compromise themselves, the more he sticks out as something normal. Borisov, as the most experienced, understands that something must change and it cannot continue like this.
Slavev emphasized that it is clear that this government will be very difficult. Our politicians are demonstrating ego. It is obvious that in this caretaker government, Peevski's influence is enormous.
