Bozhanov: Frequent changes of members of section election commissions until the last moment are a serious problem for the electoral process - 1

Frequent changes of members of section election commissions until the last moment are a serious problem for the electoral process. This was commented on in Veliko Tarnovo by Bozhidar Bozhanov, co-chair of "Yes, Bulgaria", BTA reports.

He recalled that this was established by the Constitutional Court when the early elections were partially annulled. According to him, this was a practice of "DPS-New Beginning" - with or without reason to change members of the SIC. Bozhanov believes that the Central Election Commission made the right decision by limiting the change of composition after a certain date - in this case, March 24. According to this decision, parties will not keep a member of a certain commission in a subordinate position, which narrows the range of hypotheses for the changes, he added.

Bozhanov pointed out that machine voting was left as is from the changes in 2022, which means that the machines are printers. Unfortunately, this means that it is not the machine that counts, but the people who make mistakes. “If the machine did what it is good at - to count and count, it would have been better, like in the 2021 elections, which are the cleanest elections in recent decades“, Bozhanov pointed out.

He stressed that the efforts of the caretaker cabinet are aimed at guaranteeing fair elections and its actions are in the right direction, not only with regard to the Ministry of Interior, but also with the cessation of controlled and bought votes. Bojanov pointed out that “Yes Bulgaria“ will continue to insist on the two main priorities - the rule of law and a strong Bulgaria in the heart of a strong Europe.

In Veliko Tarnovo, the co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria“ opened a party office and participated in the establishment of a youth structure of the formation. "Young people are increasingly active and understand why it is important to participate in the political process, these active young people will also find places on the party lists," he said.

Elena Dimitrova, chairwoman of the local organization of "Yes, Bulgaria", emphasized that the young people who filled the squares at the end of last year are clear that Bulgaria is not being governed in the right way. So far, they have reacted to these circumstances informally, but with an open club like the one we are opening today, they will be able to be heard and express their idea for the future of the country, said Dimitrova.
