Bykov: The attempt to cause hysteria around the appointment of Ivanov is a straw that the drowning PP have grabbed

I wish the drowning ones, instead of holding on to the straw, to try to see the beam in their own eye. There lies the answer to the question of why they went from hoping for change to being unnecessary for the political process, the GERB-SDF MP also commented.

Bykov: The attempt to cause hysteria around the appointment of Ivanov is a straw that the drowning PP have grabbed - 1

The attempt to cause hysteria around the appointment of Ivaylo Ivanov as head of the political cabinet of Interior Minister Daniel Mitov is a straw that the drowning PP have grabbed in the hope of saving their own political future. The mantra that every employee of the Ministry of Interior who participated in the protection of public order during the 2020 protests has "shed blood" and should presumably be lustrated from all positions, it should not be perceived as either an approach or a rule of the current policy.

This was published on his Facebook page by GERB-SDF MP Toma Bikov. Here is more from his comment:

I will recall that on the yellow paving stones in 2020, not only opponents of the then government protested, but also football hooligans and all types of provocateurs. Personally, I will not forget how the police were doused with incendiary liquids and attempts were made to set them on fire. This was happening in front of television cameras and can be verified. At that time, both the police and Ivo Ivanov kept their cool and did not allow the protest to escalate to levels that would threaten not only the protesters, but also public order in general. The attempt by several marginal organizations and professional protesters to present themselves as repressed fighters for freedom and justice is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous is the cry of those who remained silent when their minister Boyko Rashkov appointed Vasil Bozhkov's man as his chief of staff. To stand in the position of a moral fulcrum while your parliamentary group includes people who, in front of the entire society, have violated the law - some with illegal arrest, some with forged signatures, some with smuggling across the borders - is not only ridiculous, but also on the verge of scandal. Apparently, these people did not understand that the year is 2025 and history has already passed them by. Their opinion could only be important for their relatives and friends. One of the positive qualities of the current government is that it will not take into account the fictions and fixations of people whose connection with reality has been irretrievably lost. I am convinced that Ivo will be extremely useful as the head of the cabinet of the Minister of Internal Affairs, because his entire life has been spent in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

By the way, a year and a half ago there was a similar hysteria around Anton Zlatanov, who was then appointed head of the border police. I will remind you that thanks to his work today, Bulgaria is in Schengen and no one has accused him of not coping with his duties. Therefore, I wish Ivo success, and I wish those who are drowning, instead of holding on to the straw, to try to see the beam in their own eye. There lies the answer to the question of why they have become unnecessary to the political process from hope for change.
