„I am extremely worried about the various messages of Boyko Borisov. On Thursday, GERB convinced us that the eurozone should be postponed, and on Friday they stated that they should work for this. I do not trust Borisov. Bulgaria must categorically request a convergence report”, commented the PP-DB MP Venko Sabrutev in the program „Crossroads” on Nova TV.
According to him, the GERB MPs are pretending not to know the rules. “Once the so-called “outliers” - the countries whose inflation is unnaturally low - are applied, Bulgaria meets the necessary criteria. This convergence report explains whether or not our country is ready to be accepted into the eurozone”, Sabrutev further explained.
“We are in the waiting room of the eurozone. This does not mean that we are waiting for someone, but that they are waiting for us to meet the criteria”, the MP added.
According to Sabrutev, the role of the government is to submit a state budget with a deficit of up to 3%. “If they do not do so, this will clearly indicate that they are sabotaging our entry into the eurozone”,, he believes.
“According to Temenuzhka Petkova, Bulgaria has a deficit of 400 million leva, but we are at +400 million leva. It is extremely sad that the Minister of Finance does not know what income and expenditure are”, added Sabrutev.
