The director of the Smolyan theater Rumen Bechev was brought by the police for questioning in Plovdiv, but was not detained. The Plovdiv District Prosecutor's Office clarified that development of the case involving the draining of funds is expected tomorrow, BNR reports.
Earlier it was reported about serious violations by the management of the Rhodope Drama Theater – Smolyan, found during an inspection carried out by the Inspectorate at the Ministry of Culture.
It has been established that the scheme revealed in the Theater-Musical and Philharmonic Center - Razgrad is being repeated, the Ministry of Culture announced.
The leakage of large sums of money to several companies has been established. The amount is identical to the amount charged against the director of the Razgrad Cultural Institute.
Checks are ongoing. In stages, all state cultural institutes in the field of performing arts will be inspected, as well as internal inspections of all units of the Ministry requested by the department will be carried out.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Culture is working closely with the investigating authorities.
