The police in Pazardzhik arrested another drunk behind the wheel. A 42-year-old man from the village of Mokrishte in Pazardzhik was arrested this morning during an action in the city.
The driver did not stop when the signal was given and the law enforcement authorities had to give chase. After the police managed to stop the driver, he was tested for alcohol.
A breathalyzer test showed a blood alcohol concentration of 3.42.
The Ministry of the Interior reported that in the last week alone, 22 drivers were caught driving vehicles under the influence of alcohol, drugs or narcotics.
Four refusals of drivers who refused to be tested with technical means were also found.
"The police team was placed in an obvious, visible place. The police officer duly applied the stop baton, saw him and passed him. In this case, this is an aggravating circumstance for him, because he did not obey the orders of the police authority, visible and obvious on the road", said Miroslav Stoyanov, spokesman of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Pazardzhik.
