The action of the “Internal Security“ Directorate of the Ministry of Interior was carried out today, Monday, at noon in the center of Sofia. Among those arrested, we recognized the head of the “Migration” sector at the SDVR. He is a long-time employee in the system. He held senior positions in the “Migration“ Directorate, as well as in the “Border Police“.
According to information from NOVA sources, he provided fictitious addresses for temporary residents in the country. This was done for certain sums of money and with intermediaries. One such person was arrested during today's operation. The investigation against him lasted several months. The Ministry of Interior confirmed to NOVA that such an operation had taken place.
In 2016, the person arrested today was dismissed as deputy director of the “Border Police“ due to a public procurement contract for the transport of refugees, awarded to a person arrested for human trafficking. At that time, the punishment against him was a demotion to the position he currently holds.
