Holidays in Indonesia have suddenly become cheaper amid the collapse of the rupiah, tour operators have announced.
The Indonesian rupiah fell against other global currencies. If at the end of December last year one dollar was worth 15.4 thousand rupees, then by the end of June the rate fell to 16.4 thousand.
As a result, since July 1, travel to Indonesia has become cheaper by an average of 4%. According to the Russian Express operator, a one-week holiday in Bali in the middle of summer will cost 108 thousand rubles / BGN 2,200/ for one. The package includes flights and hotel accommodation with breakfast.
Bali authorities have said they will not hesitate to punish foreign tourists who break the country's laws and plan to increase the number of security forces on the island.
