Two days are not enough for "Sofia Voda" to change a shut-off valve in the metropolitan district "Mladost" 3. This is what the residents of Sofia were convinced of.
On Monday they were surprised with a 6 hour emergency repair. The tragedy occurred the next day, when the water stopped on the high floors of the neighborhood before 9 o'clock. A little later, information appeared on the website of a company that an emergency repair of a broken shut-off valve in "Mladost" 3.
The repair was announced from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It was later extended to 6 p.m. And half an hour before this deadline expired, information appeared on the company's website that the accident occurred at 10:10 a.m. and would be repaired at 10:10 p.m.
For years "Sofia water" ignores good European practices to announce the exact address of the accident.
During an emergency repair lasting a whole day, schools and kindergartens cannot be stocked with water, as is done with a planned one. Here, for years, the Metropolitan Municipality has not taken adequate measures to oblige the concessionaire to provide water to kindergartens and schools.
Two days are not enough for "Sofia Voda" to install a new shut-off valve for "Mladost" 3. When renewing the concession, the company boasted that they had made investments that allowed them not to leave large capital districts dry, even when changing a shut-off valve.
