Bulgarian tennis star Grigor Dimitrov speaks from the microphone on the court after the end of the final of the tournament in Stockholm, in which he lost to Tommy Paul ( USA) with 4:6, 3:6 in an hour and 24 minutes of play. For Dimitrov, this is his fourth participation in the final in the Swedish capital, where he remains with one win and already has three defeats.
"I am very happy and grateful to play in front of you here. And I have done it for so many years. It's very emotional for me and I'm happy that I was able to perform at this level," Dimitrov began from the court, addressing the audience.
"My opponent was very good too, congratulations to Tommy and his people behind him. I'll be a little shorter, but I also want to thank my team. We have taken a big step forward, the last months have been very difficult for me in terms of my physical condition. I was injured. And yet, we did our best to play at this high level.
"I have a few more weeks to play before the end of the season and I'm very happy to be able to do it. Thanks to everyone from the organization of the tournament, right down to the guys who passed the balls, the referees. This tournament venue is definitely one of my favorites. I am grateful for everything you do for us. It was indeed a very special week for me and once again congratulations to Tommy," concluded Grigor Dimitrov.
