When the checkered flag flew in front of Honda's car in Mexico on October 24, 1965, the world of motorsport changed forever. That moment of pure triumph marked the beginning of an era in which Japanese engineering genius became synonymous with invincibility. Today, 60 years later, Casio and Honda join forces to bring that racing spirit to the wrist of fans through the special ECB-2300HR model. This is not just an accessory, but a meticulously crafted time capsule that "breathes" with the aesthetics of the legendary RA272.
The designers have approached the details with almost fanatical precision. The bezel of the watch is painted in the iconic Championship White color - that specific shade of ivory that is a trademark of Honda racing machines. If you look closely, you will notice that the 60-minute marker is engraved in gold - a small but definite emphasis on the anniversary. The dial is a visual reference to the Japanese flag that proudly adorned the body of the car six decades ago.
Well, the details don't stop there! The metal nut of the strap bears the laser-etched inscription “Veni, Vidi, Vici“ - the laconic but powerful message sent by the team to Honda headquarters immediately after the victory in Mexico. Next to it is the starting number “11“, under which the car competed. The strap itself is a true work of art, on which are engraved technical drawings of the innovative 1.5-liter V12 engine for its time, which became a nightmare for European competitors.
An interesting solution is the integration of the countdown timer at the 9 o'clock position, the design of which is directly borrowed from the tachometer of the original car. The colors, the font and even the red zone are recreated one to one with those in the RA272 cockpit. The back cover is laser engraved with the Honda anniversary logo, completing the overall concept of collector's value.
