The Tesla Cybertruck electric pickup will soon get a 20% increase in charging speed thanks to a wireless software update. It was previously reported that the Cybertruck's charging power could “jump“ up to 255 kW, but quickly decreases and mostly rarely rises above 150 kW.
Drew Baglino, Tesla's head of power and propulsion development, said the automaker will increase the electric pickup's stability and charging speed in an upcoming update.
It is noted that after installing the received "over the air" update, the full-size electric pickup truck will be able to get a charge in 15 minutes, which will be enough for 248 km of range.
Currently, in the same period of time, an electric pickup from Tesla can only get enough energy for 200 km in the same measurement cycle. According to Baglino, the announced update will be available to car owners later this quarter, i.e. no later than the end of June 2024.
