The Voxan RW-5 electric motorcycle set four speed records in Monaco. The records were set by French racer Louis-Marie Blondel, and the vehicle was developed by Ohio State University engineers and the Venturi Group.
Voxan belongs to the class of electric superbikes. The weight of the two-wheeler is 150 kilograms. The motorcycle was shown in two versions - with and without a fairing.
The motorcyclist was able to accelerate to 271.515 km/h over a distance of 1 kilometer and up to 271.323 km/h over a distance of 1 mile (1.6 km) in the RW-5 version without a fairing. The streamlined version managed to accelerate to 289.787 km/h and 289.738 km/h respectively. All this allowed him to set four world records.
The electric motorcycle is equipped with a lithium-ion battery and an 80-kilowatt motor with a torque of 180 Nm, providing a maximum power of 107 horsepower. The wheelbase of the RW-5 together with the fairing is 1.68 meters with a total length of the motorcycle of 2.57 meters.
