The Israeli army announced today that it is striking military infrastructure in the Iranian capital Tehran, Agence France-Presse reported, BTA reported.
The agency notes that the war in the Middle East is entering its second month.
"The Israeli army is currently carrying out strikes on the military infrastructure of the terrorist regime throughout Tehran," announced on the "Telegram" platform army spokesman, without elaborating.
US President Donald Trump explained that in his opinion the US has achieved regime change thanks to its air strikes in Iran together with Israel, which killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and many senior representatives of the Islamic Republic, Agence France-Presse reported, BTA writes.
"We have regime change, that is already visible, because the first regime was destroyed, wiped out, they are all dead", Trump said at a briefing. "The next regime", appointed immediately after Khamenei's death, "is also largely dead", he noted to reporters last night.
According to him, this has led to the establishment of a "third regime" in Iran. "We are dealing with people different from those that anyone has dealt with before. This is a completely different group of people, so I would consider this a regime change," the president added.
Trump also said that the United States had agreed with Iran to allow 20 oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, whose blockade since the start of the Middle East war has caused a sharp jump in the price of "black gold."
"They gave us, I think out of respect, 20 oil tankers, big, big oil tankers, that will pass through the Strait of Hormuz, starting tomorrow morning (this morning - ed.) and continuing over the next few days," the American president said.
