The death toll from an earthquake in Afghanistan has risen to 12, DPA reported, citing the Taliban government.
Five houses were destroyed, 33 damaged.
Previous figures were for eight victims.
The 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck last night at a depth of 186 kilometers in the northeastern Afghan province of Badakhshan, also affecting neighboring Pakistan.
About 2,200 people were killed and more than 3,600 were injured, according to the ruling Taliban and the Red Crescent, when a magnitude 6 earthquake shook eastern Afghanistan in September last year, recalls DPA.
